Shobdo VideoRAG connects to security cameras and recorders that you own. We do not store your footage in our backend or cloud systems. Your video remains on your own recording equipment at your premises. Our system accesses footage transiently — processing individual video frames or short segments — to generate Scene Sensing Logs and to fulfill playback requests you make. Short-lived processing copies (for example, a clip you ask to review in the dashboard) are automatically deleted within 24 hours. The camera-monitoring component of the service does not capture or record audio.
Your camera and recorder credentials stay on your premises. To connect to your cameras, the service needs their usernames and passwords. You enter these on the Edge Agent — the small appliance installed at your location — and they are stored only on that device, on your own network. They are never transmitted to our cloud servers, and our cloud has no mechanism to request or retrieve them: by design, the Edge Agent reports only a credential-free inventory of your devices, and all its connections are outbound-only. If you stop using the service, removing the Edge Agent removes the stored credentials with it.
If you opt in to SMS security alerts in your account settings, we collect your mobile phone number to deliver those alerts. We do not share your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be sold or shared with any third party. Message frequency varies based on activity detected at your monitored locations. Message and data rates may apply. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message, or by unchecking SMS notifications in your account settings. To provide the services, we may transmit Scene Sensing Logs, queries and responses, and individual video frames or derived data to third-party artificial-intelligence or infrastructure providers ("subprocessors") solely to operate and improve the services. We require subprocessors to maintain confidentiality and reasonable security. We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your data with third parties for their marketing purposes.
Detections, identifications, alerts, and descriptions produced by our services are generated by AI and may be incomplete, inaccurate, or wrong. They are provided for operational awareness only and should be independently verified before you act on them. They are not, and should not be used as, forensic findings or evidence.
Our business customers operate the cameras our services connect to. The business, as the camera owner and employer, is responsible for any legally required notices to or consents from its customers and employees regarding video monitoring (for example, posted "video monitored" signage). We cooperate by providing template notices on request.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing support@shobdo.ai. We respond to verified requests within 30 days. Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have additional rights under applicable law.
We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect data within our control, including encryption in transit, credential isolation, and outbound-only device connectivity. If we become aware of a confirmed security incident affecting your data, we will notify you without undue delay.
Our services are intended for business use and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated to account holders by email.
