SMS Alerts Opt-In

How Shobdo collects consent for security alert text messages

This page documents the opt-in flow for Shobdo Security Alerts, our SMS notification program. It exists so that anyone, including mobile carrier reviewers, can verify exactly how consent is collected. The opt-in itself happens inside the customer dashboard; the interactive demo below is a working replica of that form, so the full flow can be tested right on this page.

Where opt-in happens

Users opt in on the account settings page of their Shobdo dashboard. The user enters their mobile number and checks an optional checkbox that is unchecked by default. The checkbox label reads:

I agree to receive security alert text messages from Shobdo at the number provided. Message frequency varies with activity at your stores. Message & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to unsubscribe at any time. See our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. SMS alerts are optional. Every other feature works without them.

Consent is never required to create an account or to use any other feature of the service. Consent can be revoked at any time by unchecking the box, removing the phone number, or replying STOP to any message.

The form below is a functional replica of the SMS Alerts section of the account settings page — same fields, same default-unchecked checkbox, same consent language, same save behavior. It is a demonstration: nothing is stored and no text messages are sent.

Tip for reviewers: try saving with the box unchecked (no consent is recorded), then check it and save again to see how consent is captured — and uncheck it to see revocation.

What subscribers receive

Security alert notifications about their own monitored locations, for example:

Shobdo Alert — Foodbasket International, Camera "Cash Counter 2", 3:12 PM: A person was observed placing unscanned items into a bag at the register. Review the clip: https://ui.shobdo.ai/stores. Reply STOP to opt out.

Message frequency varies with activity. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel. Mobile numbers and opt-in consent are never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes; see the Privacy Policy.
